Life in the Truck
The film shows the living condition of Chinese truck drivers. There are 30 million truckers in China and the highway freight volume accounts for 75% of China's total freight volume. Those endless roads are blood vessels, which nourish this country and provide power for its development. The elements that make up the blood vessels are numerous truckers and their trucks burdened with the hopes of the big country and small families.
What is the living situation of such a large and important group? They spend more than 80% of their time on the road during one year; they sleep in the truck when they are on a long-distance journey; more than 50% of them suffer from cervical spondylosis and Stomach; only 58.9% of them bought insurance...
This is a high-risk and hardworking group, but negative news about them are spread widely: overloading, illegal driving, traffic accidents, and violations of modifying trucks. Why do they know that overloading is illegal but they still take risks? Why their work is dangerous but still competitive?
